1. Can you explain your design pricing?

   All of the design pricing listed on our website is a base price. That means that your website, logo, or print design will cost no less than what is listed, but may cost more.

   It is impossible to give a flat rate for design services because every project is unique, and requires a different amount of time and effort. If you need a more exact estimate of how much your project would cost we suggest you fill out our quote form. Keep in mind that the more information you give us, the more accurate your quote will be. There's absolutely no obligation to work with us once you submit a quote, and we're not pushy.

2. What do you need to get started on my website?

   First, you need to do figure out what pages your website is going to need. Write them down in a tree graph type format on a piece of paper (or better still, a Word Document). Wander the Internet looking for other websites that are similar to what you want to do and make notes. Then, you will need to start gathering your website's content. Such things as:

   • · Your logo (if applicable)
   • · Pictures (store fronts, employees, products .etc)
   • · A list and description of all products/services provided by your company
   • · About information (detailed information about your companies history and current state)
   • · Contact information (location, phone, email, address .etc)

   We request that all of the content for your website be given to us in digital format. Images should be .jpg .png .gif .tiff or .psd format. Text should be sent as .doc or .txt files, you may also email the text if there isn't much.

   If you decide we're the right people to build your website, we'll do up a quote for you and outline exactly what information we'll need.

3. Do you have software that monitors the traffic on my website?

   Yes. We use Google Analytics to monitor the traffic of your website. Every Rendering Effects customer is set up with a Google account that gives them access to this feature as well many other great Google features.

   Website statistics are critical information for the performance of your website. They help you find out how many people are visiting your website, and where they are coming from. They can tell you how many visitors are coming through search engines, and which key phrase they are using.

   For our customers who don't access their Google accounts and would prefer a print out, Rendering Effects can send you a print out of your website statistics for a small fee. Contact us for more information.

4. Will I be able to maintain my website once it's done?

   If maintaining your own website is important to you than we can offer development and installation of a Content Management System (CMS). We will set you up with a web-based content management system that will give you the ability to change the text, images, documents, and links whenever you want. CMS's that we support: Cushy, WordPress, and Joomla

   Once the website is live and your domain resolves to your website you take the reigns and you will be responsible for website maintenance/updates.

5. Can you help me with my current website?

   Unfortunately, in most cases the answer is no. We have found that usually if someone comes to us looking for help with their current website it was built many years ago by someone who didn't really know what they were doing. Many older websites were built with technology that is now outdated, and the code is actually hurting your website's marketability on the Internet. The only real option is to throw it out and start fresh.

   Even if the website was built last year, it actually takes us more time to sort through someone else's code in order to update than it does for us to simply rebuild the website. So in the long run it would be cheaper to build a new website, than it would for you to have your current website updated.

6. What if I already have a website designed, can you just create the HTML for me?

   We sure can! Although we specialize in both the custom design and development of complete websites, we realize sometimes you only need one or the other. If you are a designer who prefers to focus strictly on design, you can leave the coding to us! Send us your layered Photoshop mock-up and we will code the HTML, CSS and even the Javascript for you.

   Alternatively, if you are a developer and need help with a design, we would be happy to design the website for you, and provide you with the final layered Photoshop file that you can code yourself.

Hosting

1. When I register a domain name, who will have ownership of it?

   When you register a domain name with Rendering Effects, you will have full ownership of your domain name. This means that you can have your domain name pointed at another host. Rendering Effects handles your domain administrator changing nameservers, CNAME or MX records when needed. While you retain ownership rights.

2. Can you host domain names other than .com .net .org .biz .info and .us?

   Rendering Effects can host any domain name. However, we only offer domain name registration and transferring of .com .net .org .biz .info and .us domain names at this time. If you would like to use a domain name other than that, you will be responsible for registering and or transferring the domain name yourself. 3. What is Rendering Effects' DNS information?

   The following is Rendering Effects DNS information. You can use this when registering a new domain name or modifying an existing domain name.

   • Primary Name Server:NS1.WEST-DATACENTER.NET
   • Primary Name Server IP: 69.36.161.11
   • Secondary Name Server: NS2.WEST-DATACENTER.NET
   • Secondary Name Server IP: 69.36.161.12
4. Can I have additional domain names point to my hosting account?

   Yes, you can have additional domain names point to your current account. All of our hosting plans have the ability to support multiple domains. You will have the option to point multiple domains at the same directory (e.g. domain.com and domain.net point to the same place[Standard Hosting]). Our Premium Hosting plan can host multiple websites.

5. Can I transfer an existing domain name to Rendering Effects for hosting?

   Yes. When placing your order be sure to specify that you are requesting a transfer and not a new domain. You should keep the hosting service with your current provider while waiting for the DNS change process to complete. Once you place an order for your new account with Rendering Effects you will receive your account information within 24 hours. From the time you change the DNS on your domain name to point to our name servers it will take approximately 24-72 hours for the change to propagate through out the Internet and become active. Once you have made sure you have got all the files you need form your account with your old provider and everything is pulling from your Rendering Effects account you are then safe to close the hosting service with your old provider.

6. Can I transfer a domain registered someplace else to Rendering Effect's domain registration service?

   Yes, it is possible to transfer your domain registration to Rendering Effects for FREE. We can then renew your domain for another year for $20.

   Important Note: In order to transfer your registration to us you must submit your request to us at least 15 days before your domain name expires at its current registrar. If it's past that date you'll have to renew with the current registrar.

7. Will there be any downtime in transferring my domain name to Rendering Effects?

   If you are transferring an existing website to WestHost there should be no downtime of your existing website in making the transfer. You will have the opportunity to upload your files to your new WestHost account so everything is ready to go once the transfer is completed.

8. Do you offer Windows based hosting?

   We believe in the stability and reliability of Linux based servers.  The largest share of the Internet today is run on Linux/UNIX servers.  In order for us to keep costs low we will to continue to utilize a LAMP based server system.  The acronym LAMP refers to a solution stack of software, usually open source software.

PC Repair and Maintenance

1. Do you offer support for Apple computers?

   Unfortunately we do not offer repair or maintenance services for Apple computers.

2. Do you work on laptops?

   Yes, we can repair, upgrade and maintain any software based issues on all makes and models of Windows based laptops.

3. Can you fix my computer on-site?

   We do offer on-site diagnosis and repair, but the answer to this question really depends on what's wrong with the computer. It is possible we may need to bring your computer back to our office if our tech is unable to repair your system on-website.

4. Will I lose the programs that are installed on my computer?

   In the case where a hard drive failure or reinstallation of your operating system is necessary, all programs will be lost and will need to be reinstalled.

   As part of our normal service, Rendering Effects will install your operating system and ensure that the computer is functional, but you will be responsible for the installation of software applications.

5. How long will it take to fix my computer?

   It depends on the problem. If a reinstallation is needed it could take up to 72 hours.

Billing

1. How is billing handled?

   Currently Rendering Effects only accepts cash or check payments. Hosting plans have the option of monthly or annual billing. Billing cycle is chosen at time of sale. Design and other services will receive monthly invoices on due accounts. Invoices will be sent by the 10th of the month. Payment is due by the 10th of the following month.

2. How do I change my billing cycle?

   You can change your billing cycle by contacting us. Be sure to include your domain name when contacting us.

3. What if I am late with my payment?

   Invoices will be sent on the 10th of every month. Payment is due by the 10th of the following month. All past due accounts are subject to a 1.5% late fee. Accounts that are 60 days past due are subject to removal.
